Employer response after a tragedy
No one wants a workplace tragedy to happen – a work-related fatality or serious injury exact a huge emotional and economic cost. But if the worst does happen, the way you respond as an organization can make a difference to the family of an injured or deceased worker.
This report, based on a survey of Threads of Life members, provides some clear steps an employer can follow to connect with and support the family after a tragedy.

How YOU can help after a tragedy
It’s only human to feel unsure when someone you know experiences a work-related tragedy. You don’t want to intrude, and you’re afraid you’ll say the wrong thing.
When a tragedy occurs, we need other people more than ever. But a survey by Threads of Life shows many of those affected by a work-related tragedy don’t have the human support that would help them heal. Read the results of our survey and tips from Threads of Life members to help you support someone after a tragedy.
