One-to-one support
Would you like to connect one-to-one with someone who can listen, help answer your questions, and support you after a workplace tragedy? Peer support is available from a Threads of Life Volunteer Family Guide.

Peer support after a workplace tragedy
Your experience is unique, but you are not alone. If you’ve lost a loved one to a workplace fatality, or you’re coping with a serious life-altering injury or occupational disease (your own or that of a loved one), we can connect you with a volunteer who has been through a similar experience.

Who are Volunteer Family Guides and what do they do?
Every Volunteer Family Guide is trained to provide you with a supportive relationship, a safe place to share openly. They have experienced a tragedy themselves, and they draw from their own experience to help you along your journey of healing.

How Does It Work?
Your Volunteer Family Guide will connect with you on the phone, in person, or via email. They will support you by listening, offering guidance, and connecting you to additional programs and supports to make coping and healing easier. Learn more about the experience of working with a Volunteer Family Guide.

Request
Request a Volunteer Family Guide at no cost, any time after a workplace tragedy (recent to several years past).

Follow-up
A Threads of Life team member will follow up to learn more about your situation and match you with the right volunteer.

You decide
Once you and your volunteer are connected, you will decide together how to meet (phone, in-person, email) and how often. Over time, you can decide for how long you would like to receive this support.
