New Brochure for Employers (PDF download)
Employers can play a pivotal leadership role in advancing health and safety by accessing the following resources and support offered by Threads of Life: the Speakers Bureau to drive home the injury prevention message at your next health and safety event, let an employee's family who is suffering from a workplace tragedy know about Threads of Life, participate as a sponsor or register at team in a local Steps for Life event in your community. All funds will be directed to help send families to a regional family forum to connect to a welcoming network of others to help them along their journey of grief. Participants learn active listening skills, how others of workplace tragedy cope with their changing circumstances and much more. Forums receive exceptionally high marks from participants.

"The obvious raw wounds of new family members renewed my determination to carry on the fight against workplace tragedy. "

Do you have a communication's plan to handle a workplace fatality? Most companies think so until they read a first-hand account of what should have happened from a parent's perspective. "Communicating in a Crisis" (reproduced with permission from AP magazine, Jan/Feb 2007).

Awareness: Speakers Bureau

Is your health and safety program looking for a boost or a change of pace? Threads of Life promotes public awareness and accountability for workplace health and safety through its Speakers Bureau.

Our Speakers Bureau is comprised of people who have been impacted by a workplace tragedy, life-altering injury or occupational illness. Personal testimony and sharing experiences is the most powerful and effective way to change attitudes and perceptions about health and safety.

Our speakers will come on-site to bring home the reality and repercussions of workplace tragedies to your employees. Their testimonies personalize the injury statistics and are compelling, riveting and never to be forgotten.

Fact: Since inception in 2005, our speakers have presented to more than 20,000 individuals.

Client Feedback

"Joanne Wade was superb, still sends shivers down my spine, when I close my eyes."
Angele M. Poitras, Co-ordinator: Educational, Volunteer & Community Services, Industrial Accident Prevention Association, Mid Near North Division

"Liz Webley's address to the delegates was very informative, timely and well presented."
J.R. Wacheski, Business Manager/Financial Secretary, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 636

"The timing was perfect and students were very receptive because approximately half in each group indicated that they already had their first job. Our grade 8 students really listened intently to Jamie because of his manner and his message. His background as a teacher helped him to connect with the students".
